BIG ISLAND BOWLS

Owners Brendan Schneck and Kelly Hazouri established this local food truck in 2014, bring to our area organic acai bowls with fresh local fruits, herbs, honey, and homemade granola. As you drive by their daily location on Anastasia Blvd. you see a steady stream of customers enjoying these acai bowls surrounded by planted herbs and flowers. They also sells the bowls at the Farmers' Market at the Amphitheater on Saturdays. Brian and Kelly are committed to being totally eco-friendly. They compost all of their waste, recycle as much as they can, including all paper and boxes (they are exploring turning plastic into apparel), and working toward being the first LEED food truck(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). ACAI is a palm tree berry from the Amazon which is rich in antioxidents. Brendan and Kelly are compassionate community activists, committed to providing more healthful food options for this area. The St. Johns County Commission has approved their request to construct an organic farm-to-table Food Truck Village next to S.A.F.E. on AIA . This venture will include a central commissary for about six trucks parked in the "village" with tables and parking for customers. They have a new location in Gainesville too.
